Confused, Chaotic and Hazed

New Watch

I got a new watch on Tuesday, May 20th 2008. It’s a Concord Bennington watch. I’ve been longing to buy a high end watch for a while and finally I bought one 🙂 I started searching for a new watch way back in late Nov ’07. Concord has always been my first choice, however, I was thinking about buying a watch from a *BRAND* that is well known in India. (Typical Desi attitude, Ain’t it? ) So, I looked at Tag Heuer’s as well. The problem I faced with Tag’s is that Tag’s lower end (F1 line) watches are not dress watches and they look more sporty. Tag’s higher end (Carrera and Grand Carrera) make very good dress watches but obviously they are out of my budget. I tried a few Tag’s on me and for some reason I didn’t feel great. May be this has to do with the liking I’ve developed towards the Concords. After trying a few Tag’s, I went to a Movado showroom (I mean outlet showroom) and tried the one below. What I liked the most about this watch is that the white/creamish dial with blue hands. This watch is a little big for my wrist but I liked it so much that I couldn’t let it go off my hands in the showroom.  After spending some 30 minutes, I decided to go ahead with this watch and I bought it. Sure, I did spend a mini-fortune (this is relative of course;-) ) on this watch but I think I am sure going to enjoy this watch for a long time.

Monday Morning

Got up at 7:15 AM when I heard the sound of water hitting the (hardwood) floor. Initially I thought it was from my roommate’s bathroom. I thought he was taking a bath. Somehow the sound was different from the regular bath tub sound. After a while I realized that it was from my bathroom and went in to check what’s happening. To my surprise I saw water leaking from the heat vent in my bathroom. Immediately I placed a service call. After 15 min the service guy came in and he saw the water dripping from the vent and all he said was “I will be back” and started to head out. I asked where he was going and he said he wants to check with the apartment right on top of my apartment. I waited for him till 8:45 but he never returned. I am so pissed of with him and my Monday has the worst start I could imagine. Got late to office as I had to wait for my roommate to finish his bathroom activities. Reached office at 9:30 AM and started to blog………

Welcome to my first post !!! Didn’t like the default “Hello World” post coz it reminds me of learning a new computer language. 😉

I hope to write as often as I can (which actually translates to everyday, since I am not that busy anyways).
